a treasure...

...was found at the local thrift store. I occasionally will stop on by our local charity store and look for something specific (aka. frames, strollers, etc...) but while we are there we always check out the small toy selection for anything that looks like it might be worth the buck or two it costs.

We've gotten lucky so far, and have always been able to find a cheap, hardly used, toy that out little miss schmutz enjoys. This past time was no exception with the new addition to our toy family being - potato heads!

It was wonderful that in the stash there were two potato head bodies and a whole bunch of accessories! Ashlyn now loves pointing out eyes, ears, nose, checks, mouth, hair, etc. So these potato heads came at a perfect timing.

Little miss schmutz and I would both dress up our potato head and then take them over to the table for their "photoshoot". Ashlyn thought it was awesome to see her potato head on the camera, and loved the idea of getting their pictures taken.


at one point, Ashlyn was trying to decide what one of the extra pieces in the bag was. I pointed out that it was an "ear" and proceeded to place the "ear" on the side of the potato's head. My little miss watched very intently the whole time. Then, in true Ashlyn style, she quickly pinched the plastic "ear" and popped her other thumb into her mouth.. oh dear.. I do not think that habit will ever go away..
