a colorful family...

...with some colorful eggs. I think coloring eggs was our favorite part of easter this year. Everyone in our little family really got into designing and choosing the colors... as well as plopping the eggs into the cups and waiting {patiently} for the eggs to be done.

Our little miss schmutz loved seeing all the colors and stiring the mixtures together. She did take a taste out of a couple of them (..sigh..) but with the vinegar taste, I do not think she was very impressed.

The little wax color crayon turned out to be our favorite design tool of choice. We all were able to take turns colors different designs on our eggs. The most fun part was to see the designs be revealed after the lil eggs had been dyed.

After a while Ashlyn had a grand idea. How about.. instead of just coloring the eggs and ooh-ing and ah-ing over how pretty they were.. how about we just eat them! And eat them she did. All daddy did (in the picture above) was make sure our babe didn't eat the egg shell too.

Coloring eggs was so much fun. I am really sad that we usually only get to do it once a year. I might make it a family tradition to do it again in the fall.. how about thanksgiving eggs? ...hmm.. we'll have to think about that one...

  1. How fun! I am sad to say I was so tired and stressed the night we went to mom's to do Easter Eggs that I didn't enjoy it much. Luckily for us, Taylor has some wonderful Aunts and Uncles that helped him to enjoy it without mom ;)
